Pastor
Father Gregory P. Galvin
Father Gregory Galvin was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Norwich on May 28, 1994, by Bishop Daniel P. Reilly at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Norwich, Connecticut.
A native of Dover, Massachusetts, Father Galvin has faithfully served the Diocese of Norwich in numerous pastoral and diocesan assignments throughout his priesthood. Prior to his appointment as Pastor of Saint John Church in Middletown, he served as Pastor of St. Coleman in Middlefield, Saint Bridget of Kildare Parish in Moodus and Saint Patrick Parish in East Hampton, Pastor of Saint Philip the Apostle Parish in Ashford, and most recently as Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish serving the communities of Coventry and Storrs. He also served as Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Norwich.
Father Galvin has served on the Permanent Diaconate Advisory Board, the Presbyteral Council, and the National Conference of Diocesan Vocation Directors, and has acted as diocesan liaison to the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS).
As Pastor of Saint John Church, Father Galvin is dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel, celebrating the Sacraments, and fostering the spiritual growth of the parish community. He considers it a profound privilege to serve as a priest and to assist others in deepening their relationship with Jesus Christ.
In his leisure time, Father Galvin enjoys golfing, camping, hiking, playing the piano, and following Boston sports teams.
